Sprint4Live ends Season 18 with a 6th place in the WC ITT for Buso. Slico hoped for a bit more, especially considering the very good results of the TTers in this season. It's also a bit disappointed to see no successor for Moerenhout, but Slico is really happy about the enforcements this season: Training of Veenhuis and Osterberg, Buying of Delage, Vranceanu, Thompson and Pierewaaijer.
The Climbers did really well this season, thanks to the new riders. A really big disappointment was the low maxing of the super talent Pepijn Veenhuis. He still could race some races as a captain and earned 210 points. The Wagemakers brothers won 370 points and the new Delage got 100 points. The 680 points in total is really a progress to Season 17: 370 points.
Still no successor for Moerenhout and the results were not that great too. Osterberg maxed also way too early at AV45. Moerenhout and Olfers managed to win 430 points, very low compared to the 720 points of last season. It's really clear there has to be a new topsprinter, but it will hard to manage that. Pierewaaijer and Vranceanu are luckily two really good lead outs, they maybe an convice the topsprinter to sign.
At last the best performing squad, the TTers. Buso won, also thanks to his topform, 740 points. That's a good amount of points for who is seen the best TTer in the world. But there is still progress possible. In total the TTers won 1840 points, a really good achievement.
The stats:
TTsquad: 1.840 points. 10 results: 3 wins, 4 second places, two third places and a sixht place in the WC. Scored by Buso (1,1,2,3,6), Figueira (2,2,3) and Guerini (1,2)
Climbsquad: 680 points. 3 results, 1 first place and two third places. Scored by Jef Wagemakers (1) and Veenhuis (3,3)
Sprintsquad: 430 points. 3 results, 3 second places. Scored by Moerenhout (2,2) and Olfers (2).
The Goals for this season were:
1. Make Veenhuis the new climbing captain with a nice AV. Also max Osterberg.
2. The same: Achieve more points with the climbers than in season 17.
3. Maintain the amount of points for the TTers. Also buy a fifth TTer capable of scoring points.
4. Score more points than in Season 17 and stay in the top10.
The results:
1. Failed.... Veenhuis maxed at AV44. Osterberg was maxed...
2. Achieved! 310 points more!
3. Not achieved. The TTers scored 460 points more, but there was no 5th TTer...
4. Achieved! 190 points more than in Season 17.
Concluding, Sprint4Live raced a good season. It ends the season with 3020 points, 190 points more than Season 17 on a 6th place. The deals were also good, some new, young riders came. Slico forsees a bright future:)
The new results for Season 19:
1. Enlarge the team to 20+ riders.
2. Get 6 TTers.
3. Find a successor of Moerenhout...
4. Max Delage at AV50+ and make sure he will win 750+ points.
